The two-disc interactive CD-ROM package contains all of the text
and graphical information found in the original nine volume, 3800-page
Comprehensive Test Report produced for Phase III of the Memorial
Tunnel Fire Ventilation Test Program. It also contains a number
of additional sections and elements which provide a greater depth
of information and understanding about the test facility, test program,
and final test report.
Disc # 1 is organized into 5 main sections:
- The first, or "Overview" section provides video and
text summaries of the test program and the CD-ROM.
- The second, or "Test Facility" section contains video,
text and graphics, as well as a comprehensive photo library of
the entire tunnel facility. A unique feature within this section
allows the user to "Visit the Site" and experience a
3D computer model of the tunnel including animations, detailed
renderings, and a series of Interactive Virtual Reality locations
throughout the project site.
- The third, or "Test Operations" section, contains
video, text, and graphics explaining the plans, preparations,
and procedures for all of the fire ventilation tests.
- The fourth, or "Test Results" section contains findings
and conclusions for all of the ventilation tests, and features
a series of animations and detailed descriptions for each of the
10 ventilation concepts tested.
- The final, or "Comprehensive Test Report" section
contains a summary for each of the nine report volumes, as well
as a table of contents which identifies all of the fire tests
conducted for the entire fire ventilation test program.
Disc #2 contains the entire nine volume Comprehensive Test Report
including:
- All text and graphics found in the original 3800 page final
test report.
- The disc is organized sequentially by volume number and provides
the user with the ability to select and download any or all sections
of the original comprehensive test report. All files contained
on the second CD-ROM have been compressed for optimized storage
and retrieval, and can be easily uncompressed after downloading
by executing a self extracting archive file for each desired section.
- Apple Macintosh users will need to use the companion extraction
utility that has been provided on the CD-ROM. Once uncompressed,
all files can be viewed and printed using Microsoft Word and Excel,
